An unassuming 19th century former factory costs £6,000 a month to rent because of amazing bonus features hidden inside.

Passersby can be forgiven for thinking the tatty property in Leamington Spa is derelict or even in a state of disrepair.

But behind the shutters hides a 4,200 square foot space which has been converted into a trendy New York-style loft apartment.

The current owner mischievously intended the stunning interior to come as a huge surprise to people entering for the first time.

The 19th century building was originally a print works before being converted into an indoor tennis club.

The sprawling open-plan living space boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms spread over four floors.

The central living area, measuring 9.36m (30.9ft) by 20.60m (67.7ft) includes modern kitchen, dining area, lounge and snug.

A staircase leads to the first floor mezzanine featuring a pool table, double bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom.

The second floor features another huge bedroom with views overlooking Leamington Spa and the River Leam.

The property is located on Bedford Street in the centre of the posh Regency town.

It is being marketed by an estate agents for £6,000 per month – the equivalent of £1,500 per room.

A spokesperson said: "It was deliberately designed to look quite unassuming from the outside.

"It's a quirky feature of this amazing property which is stunning inside."

Its listing says: "A former print works and later the first ever tennis court of Leamingtons' Real Tennis club with many original features dating back to the late 1800's.

"Bedford Street Lofts is set over four floors, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a vast open plan living space boasting 30ft high ceilings, a fully fitted kitchen and sociable dining area, lounge and stylish entry way, private rear courtyard and is equipped with a pool table and football table.

"It has a private and secure entrance set away from the busy roads and hustle and bustle of the town centre.

"It has been designed with a modern loft feel, open brick work, polished concrete and wooden flooring, expansive triple glazed windows, rear outdoor seating area and an impressive mezzanine."

Despite there being no designated parking area, there is a car park nearby and on street parking bays.

It is also a stone's throw from the Parade, a half-mile long street featuring shops, restaurants and bars.
