A driver has been caught travelling over 30 mph above the speed limit on the M40 southbound during speed enforcement checks by Warwickshire Police.

Officers from OPU Warwickshire conducted checks on the A46 (Kenilworth), A429 (Coventry Road, Warwick), and the M40 southbound and detected multiple speeding offences yesterday morning (21 July).

The highest recorded speed offence involved a driver travelling at 103 mph in a 70 mph zone on the M40 southbound.

Police stated that the operation was part of their ongoing efforts to reduce fatal and serious collisions by targeting the "Fatal Four" offences: speeding, drink and drug-driving, mobile phone use while driving, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
