A small-batch coffee roaster in Leamington is preparing to expand, with new seating and an online launch planned for the coming weeks.

Ginger Elephant Coffee, based at the Arches on Neilston Street, has already been building a local following with its freshly roasted beans and in-store tasting.

The brand's distinctive name is rooted in the founders' personal journey. Co-founder Richard met his business partner Howard while travelling in Sri Lanka, a country closely associated with elephants.

That connection later merged with Leamington Spa's own historic links to elephants, particularly through the town's past associations with the Lockhart family, helping inspire the 'Elephant' part of the name.

The 'Ginger' element adds a more personal touch, drawn from one of Richard's close friends, a redhead, giving the brand a quirky identity designed to stand out from high street coffee chains.

Expansion plans underway

The roastery is now working on its next phase of growth.

Plans include installing seating for around 12 to 15 customers, allowing visitors to sit in and enjoy drinks on-site.

The site has already welcomed a new mural designed by local muralist and artist, Michelle Abrahall.

A new website is also set to launch next week, marking a step forward in the brand's development and wider reach.

Currently, visitors can stop by the Arches location to purchase beans and sample a variety of brewing styles, including espresso, pour-over, filter (drip) coffee and AeroPress.

With its mix of storytelling, sustainability and speciality brewing, Ginger Elephant Coffee is aiming to establish itself as a distinctive part of Leamington Spa's independent coffee scene.
