Leamington's weekly market will not be held on Friday 9 January as an amber weather warning is in place for Storm Goretti.

Operator CJ's Events Warwickshire has also cancelled its Rugby market on the same day.

Forecasts are predicting up to 15cm of snow overnight in Warwickshire.

"Given that the forecast hasn't improved, and that the severe conditions are expected overnight and into Friday morning, we've made the difficult decision to close all markets tomorrow, Friday 9 January," CJ's said.

"The combination of snow, sleet, rain, and freezing temperatures makes it unsafe for our team, traders, and visitors to attend.

"All Saturday markets will run as usual, weather permitting, and we hope to see you then as conditions improve.

"We're really sorry for any disappointment caused, but the safety of everyone involved is our top priority. Thank you for your understanding and continued support."
