Popular gourmet food business relocates from Coventry to Leamington

A popular Coventry food business is preparing for an exciting new chapter after announcing its move to Leamington this summer.
Tony Davies, owner of the Gourmet Food Kitchen, will be relocating his business after more than a decade in Coventry, citing growing demand from customers in the area and the opportunities offered by Leamington's thriving food scene.
"We get a lot of customers from Leamington.
"I think it's a more affluent area and a good fit for what we do" explained Tony.
Unlike many food businesses, the Gourmet Food Kitchen prides itself on making almost everything from scratch.
Customers can expect a range of handcrafted dishes, with particular attention paid to the business's popular bagels.
"The difference with my bagels is that I make everything myself," Tony said.
"I cure and smoke my own salmon and cure and smoke my own bacon. I don't buy anything in – it's all homemade."
Before focusing solely on the Gourmet Food Kitchen, Tony also ran a chocolate shop in Coventry.
However, increasing demand for his food business eventually led him to concentrate on cooking.
"I didn't have the time to make chocolates as well as do the gourmet nights because I was so busy," he said.

While he enjoyed both sides of the business, cooking remains his true passion.
He explained: "Pastry is more of a science, you have to weigh everything out. Cooking is more about flair and taste."
One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is seeing customers enjoy the food he creates.
I enjoy watching people eat my food and seeing the room go quiet because everyone is enjoying the food so much" shared Tony.
Although he doesn't have a favourite dish to prepare, Tony added the variety that comes with creating different menus and experiences is a highlight for him.
The new premises will be located on Warwick Street in Leamington with daytime trading expected to begin during the final week of June, while the first evening gourmet dining event is scheduled for 4 July.
Demand is already proving strong, with bookings coming in through the business's website and the first gourmet evening already fully booked.
Having spent years building his reputation in Coventry, Tony is optimistic about the future in Leamington.
Tony noted that customers travel from across the UK, with one man evening flying in from New York to visit the Gourmet Food Kitchen.
With a loyal customer base, a commitment to freshly-made food and an already busy bookings diary, the Gourmet Food Kitchen looks set to make a strong impression in Leamington.
