Police cordon at Newbold Comyn as bomb disposal team deal with 'historic device'

Police have cordoned off an area of Newbold Comyn in Leamington Spa and bomb disposal experts are present after a 'historic device' was pulled from the River Leam.
Warwickshire Police first alerted members of the public to the incident earlier this afternoon (September 10).
"For everyone's safety, we've set up a cordon and are currently waiting for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team who will come and assess the device," a force statement said.
"Although the leisure centre remains open, we ask that you avoid the area where possible as traffic is building.
"Thank you for your patience and please do come and speak to one of our officers if you have any concerns."
