A chain restaurant in Leamington has submitted an application to update its signs.

Pizza Express, on Parade, has applied to make several changes to its grade II listed premises, all of which are signage and decorative updates.

The plans include four sets of "non-illuminated text" to replace the existing signs, and two "non-illuminated roundels" (showing the Pizza Express logo) to replace the existing ones.

This as well as one internally illuminated menu box to replace the current version and one set of gold vinyl text over the entrance glazing.

The fascias behind the logo are also to be repainted black along with the window frames.

A separate application for advertisement consent has also been submitted and is awaiting validation.

In the planning documents, Pizza Express stated: "Because the building is being upgraded with signage that already exists and has been for several years, we foresee no detrimental impact on the building with regards to our undertaking the above works.

"The signage bodes well with the setting of the Grade II listed building and conservation area."
