An established women's business networking organisation, has successfully launched its sixth group in the region.

The Athena Network hosted a vibrant event at Mallory Court Hotel, Leamington Spa, on 29 January, which saw over 90 women in business from across Warwickshire — both employed and self-employed — attend the launch.

The women came together to network, build connections, and learn more about how The Athena Network supports women to grow their businesses, confidence and professional skills.

The event was hosted by Holly Nixon, Athena Regional Director for Warwickshire.

Holly shared: "My passion is supporting women in business and creating spaces where they can connect, collaborate and grow. The Athena Network South Warwickshire is currently the fastest-growing region in the UK, and I'm incredibly proud of our community. Our members give generously, cheerlead one another and genuinely support each other's success.

"Growing the Warwickshire region means even more opportunities for everyone involved."

The enthusiasm for the new Leamington Spa group has been immediate, with 10 founder members securing their seats before the official launch.

A further 12 women joined Athena groups across the region on the day of the event.

Founder member of the Leamington Leap Group, Jo Querelle of Purple Orchid Bookkeeping, said: "It speaks volumes that this group was already half full before launch. It tells you everything you need to know about the Athena region Holly Nixon is creating."

Guests enjoyed refreshments, morning delicacies and open networking before taking part in an engaging panel discussion featuring Athena members Dawn Owen (Becoming a Business Badass - Business Coach for Women), Naomi Wachner (Founder of Calibre VA Services) and Phoenix Humphreys (Founder of Raise to Rise Grant & Fundraising Services).

The panel shared personal networking experiences, insights and practical tips for business growth.

Holly has led five thriving Athena groups across Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Kenilworth and Warwick since January 2024, welcoming over 100 members during that time.

Athena meetings take place monthly from 12–2pm, making them accessible for women balancing work and family commitments. Meetings give members regular opportunities to showcase their businesses, share expertise and develop strong, supportive relationships.

Holly added: "Athena brings women together in a professional yet relaxed environment, encouraging meaningful connections, natural collaborations and personal referrals."

Jacqueline Rogers, Founder of The Athena Network, commented: "The co-operative attitude between members is a huge part of Athena's success. The meetings are enjoyable, informative and create the foundation for strong business partnerships — and friendships."
