A murder investigation has begun following the discovery of a body at a popular park amongst families in Leamington.
It comes after the body of a man, was found by a member of the public in Victoria Park yesterday (15 April).
A post-mortem carried out today (16 April) found that the man, who was in his 50, died as a result of injuries consistent with an assault.
There remains a heavy police presence in and around the park.

Detective Inspector Gareth Unett said: "I understand this will be concerning for the local community, but I'd like to reassure them we have a team of detectives working to establish the full circumstances that led to the man's death.
"We're carrying out a number of enquiries including checking CCTV and will have officers in and around the park providing reassurance. If you have questions, please speak to them.
"We'd ask anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area from late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning to come forward and share what they know.
"Finally, I'd ask people not to speculate online as this can cause unnecessary distress to the family and may impact our investigation."
Anyone who was in the park yesterday (15 April), particularly before 7.45am, and saw anything that might help the ongoing investigation is advised to contact police via this link, quoting incident 68 of 15 April.
