MP Matt Western responds to knife-related incident in Leamington leading to arrest of 17-year-old

MP for Warwick and Leamington has responded to an incident involving a knife at a college in Leamington Spa.
The incident involved a seventeen-year-old boy who was arrested following reports of someone with a knife at Warwickshire College, yesterday afternoon (23 September).
The boy was arrested on suspicion of attempt to wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.
Two other boys were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following an incident while officers were present at the scene.
According to the Police, no one was injured, and the incident is believed to be part of a disagreement.
In response, Mr Western said: "I was alarmed by yesterday's incident at Warwickshire College in Leamington. I understand that this would have been a distressing situation for staff and students at the college.
"I am relieved that no one was harmed and would like to thank Warwickshire Police for their immediate and professional response. The police investigation is ongoing and the suspect involved is now in custody.
"Therefore, I would encourage anyone with relevant information or footage to contact Warwickshire Police. I will also continue to offer my full support to the college and its community as they deal with this incident."
