Meet the duo behind Leamington's brand new mobile bakery
By Nadia Sayed 3rd Jul 2026
A new mobile bakery is set to hit the streets of Leamington for the first time this weekend (4 July).
BAKE BOX is giving residents the chance to enjoy freshly baked artisan goods and speciality coffee from a beautifully restored vintage van.
Founded by Ollie and Alessandro, BAKE BOX will officially launch its new mobile bakery on Saturday (4 July), marking the next chapter for a business that began as a small online venture during the pandemic.
Although the business has built a loyal following through attending local markets across the county, the mobile bakery will give the pair greater freedom to create the experience they have always envisioned.
"We wanted to have more control over the customer experience," shared co-founder Ollie Wells.
"At the markets, you do the best you can with the space you're given, but with the van we can design everything ourselves – inside and out – and create something that really reflects our brand."
The pair have strong but slightly different backgrounds, which they say complement each other perfectly.

Alessandro, originally from Florence in Italy, has been passionate about baking since childhood. He grew up in a converted watermill where flour was still milled, later honing his craft in chocolatiers in Milan and bakeries in London.
Meanwhile, Ollie comes from a media background and previously specialising in digital culture.
"I've always loved creativity, but I've also got quite an operational brain," shared Ollie.
"Alessandro brings all the technical baking knowledge, while I focus on organising everything behind the scenes. It works really well."
The pair launched BAKE BOX back in May 2020 as an online bakery before expanding into local markets across Warwickshire in 2022.
Since then, they've steadily refined their range, experimenting with new products, introducing artisan breads and continuously evolving the business.
Now, their biggest project yet is ready to roll.
The vintage bakery van, powered by its original 1960s engine, will travel around Leamington and the wider district, visiting regular weekly locations alongside special community events.
"It's got plenty of character," Ollie laughed.
"It's loud and a little bit rickety, but that's part of its charm."

Customers can expect BAKE BOX's signature range of artisan baked goods, alongside a major new addition – speciality coffee.
The business has partnered with London-based coffee roaster Alchemy to serve carefully sourced coffee that reflects BAKE BOX's focus on craftsmanship.
Ollie shared: "We didn't just want to become another coffee shop."
"We wanted to introduce something that genuinely adds something different. The coffee fits really well with our brand and our curiosity through craft."

Rather than remaining in one fixed location, the mobile bakery will follow a regular schedule so customers know where to find it each week.
Those locations, along with appearances at local events, will be announced on BAKE BOX's social media channels.
Following its launch this weekend, BAKE BOX will also appear at Warwick's Wimbledon screening event next weekend as part of its first series of community appearances.
For Ollie and Alessandro, the mobile bakery is about much more than selling bread and pastries – it's about creating memorable experiences and becoming a familiar sight across the district.
"It's a continuation of everything we've built over the last few years," Ollie highlighted.
"We're just excited to bring it to people in a way that feels much more authentic to us."
Catch the mobile van this weekend on 4 July in Leamington at: The Pump Room Gardens at Dormer Place from 10am to 12 noon. Or, at Jephson Gardens on Newbold Terrace from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
