A man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following his conviction for involvement in cannabis production in South Leamington.

The sentencing of Arlind Gasa took place on Thursday, 24 July.

It follows intelligence provided by members of the public, coupled with discreet operations carried out by officers, which ultimately led to the uncovering of a cannabis farm located on Westlea Road in Leamington.

In total, 412 cannabis plants were confiscated from the premises.

Arlind Gasa was apprehended at the scene, after which he was charged with the production of cannabis and subsequently remanded to appear in court.

Leamington Police said: ""If you suspect that drugs are being cultivated or trafficked in your vicinity, please inform us.

"We will never disregard the intelligence received, which could result in significant discoveries like this one."
