Major Cubbington road used by commuters set to face phased close for HS2 works

A major road, frequently used by amongst commuters, is set to close for HS2 works in June and July 2026.
A445 Leicester Lane in Cubbington, will face a phased three-part closure to allow for the work to be carried out, with the first phase beginning next month (June).
Phase one will begin on Monday 8 June and continue until Sunday 14 June.
During this period, the road will be closed from 7am with temporary traffic lights in place.
Phase two will then follow from Monday 15 June to Sunday 12 July with a full road closure, 24/7.
Monday 13 July to Sunday 26 July from 7pm to 7am will be the third closure, and see daytime temporary traffic lights and at the weekend.
These works will be in effort to replace the culvert across the carriageway and connecting multiple utilities ready for the new road realignment.
HS2 has confirmed motorists can expect to see increased levels of construction activity and overnight work during phase two.
There will be a signed diversion route in place.
