Live on Air… and Under Siege: Pontypool at Leamington's Loft Theatre
By Nadia Sayed 10th Apr 2026
It's Valentine's Day in the remote town of Pontypool, Ontario. Beacon Radio's morning show team are about to go viral in a way DJ Grant Mazzy could only have dreamed of, until he realises that this might be his worst nightmare.
Local weatherman Ken Loney reports on something strange going on in the town. People are talking in strange ways. Repeating phrases. Tearing each other apart.
The team struggles to verify the story, as they find themselves at the centre of a very unusual outbreak. What's turning the locals into a rampaging mob, and is the broadcast helping, or harming?
Director Hannah Brown says: "Pontypool is a play about language, how it shapes who we are, and who we can trust when everything around us collapses."
The Loft's take on this claustrophobic cult horror runs from 21 Tuesday to Saturday 25 April 2026

Age guidance is 16 plus and there is a+ content warning for violence, moderate gore, mature themes.
The Studio performance space is located upstairs and unfortunately does not have lift access.
The Loft Theatre is continuing its free ticket offer for 16–25 year olds throughout 2026, with all other tickets priced at £14 each.
