Leamington Police have issued a warning to road users following the discovery of counterfeit posters on a vehicle, falsely attributed to Warwickshire Police.

Patrols spotted a poster on a vehicle window screen yesterday (20 February) which read: "Please do not obstruct the pavement" in bold capital letters with a Warwickshire Constabulary sign above.

However officers have emphasises, although parking causing an obstruction to other road users is an offence, "we would like to put a message out to confirm that this has not been created by Warwickshire Police."

Leamington Police said: "We ask that all road users to be mindful of where you park, especially near junctions, garages and on pavements, to help keep everyone safe and have the access they require."
