Leamington Police arrest drunk man after public disturbance and catch suspected shoplifter
By Nadia Sayed 4th Mar 2026
A man has been arrested after police were called to reports of a drunk individual shouting at members of the public in Leamington.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon (3 March) on Bedford Street.
Bedford Street isn't currently accepting street performances.
Leamington Police said the man was "arrested to prevent things escalating and to keep everyone safe (him included).
"The road is for vehicles, not vocal warm-ups — and we'd much rather not test anyone's reaction times."
Another incident occured in the town, whereby a suspected shoplifter was chased by police and taken to the station.
Leamington Police shared: "The vast majority of people enjoying the town centre were doing so without issue — thank you. If you're out and about, enjoy yourselves, look after your mates, and keep the drama off the carriageway.
"If you have any concerns while you're in town, please get in touch."
