A fire at a flat in Leamington resulted in increased presence of police and fire services this evening (30 August).

The incident took place at Ashton Court on Newland Road in the town.

A police statement confirmed there were no injuries as a result of the fire, which has been contained.

Leamington Police said: "We would like to remind anyone nearby to please keep away from the area so as not to hinder our ability to deal with the situation.

"Thank you for your understanding and patience while we deal with this issue."
