In June of this year, Leamington Spa celebrated a significant milestone with the bicentennial commemoration of its former police force, established on June 10, 1825.

To honour the two hundred years since its inception, a series of events has been organised throughout the community.

On Sunday (17 August) officers from the Leamington Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Patrol Investigation Unit took part in the festivities at the Leamington Polish Club.

This historic site served as the headquarters for the former Leamington Borough Police from 1825 to 1947, and continued to house the original Leamington Police Station until 1968.

The officers expressed their delight at participating in this historical occasion.

Leamington Police shared: "We all really enjoyed being part of a piece of history and with some incredible help from our Warwickshire Police Cadets and our Neighbourhood Team Inspector, the event went without a hitch."
