Leamington and Warwick's largest girls-only football club are celebrating after being crowned CWGFL Spring Cup champion.

Leamington Lions FC Under-11JB Girls won after a nail-biting final against Coventry Godiva at home over the weekend.

The girls produced a determined and spirited team performance in a closely contested match that kept supporters on edge until the final whistle.

The success marks the Under-11JB team's first cup win together, making it an especially proud moment for the players, coaches and families who have supported them throughout the season.

Led by captain Maeve, the squad showed composure, resilience and togetherness, demonstrating the confidence and team spirit they have built over the course of the entire season.

The cup win is another proud moment for Leamington Lions Girls FC, Warwick and Leamington's largest girls-only football club, supporting more than 200 girls from age four through to its ladies team.

The team is managed and coached by Jim Berry and Steve O'Rourke, who praised the girls for their commitment, attitude and hard work throughout the competition: "We are so proud of all the girls this year. So proud of the way they are developing and the bonds that they are forming, on and off the pitch. Watching the girls raise the Spring Cup feels like such a fitting way to finish the season."

The Under-11JB team is sponsored by EweMove, whose support has helped provide opportunities for the girls to train, play and develop as part of the growing Leamington Lions community.
