Have you ever fancied a morning rave before you have even had your first sip of coffee?

A new sober morning rave is coming to Leamington, with people invited to dance, socialise and enjoy themselves - all without alcohol.

The event will take place at Boston Tea Party in Leamington on Sunday 27 September from 7.30am.

The concept was created by The Social Thirties founder Courtney Smith, as part of her mission to create a space where people in the local community can meet, make new friends and socialise.

Attendees can expect a live DJ set, coffee, iced coffee, matcha, strawberry matcha, herbal teas, freshly baked pastries, fruit smoothies and fruit platters, alongside a photographer and videographer capturing the morning.

Speaking to Nub News, Courtney explained this particular event has been designed to challenge the idea that people need alcohol to have a good time, while bringing people of different ages together.

She shared: "It's just to encourage being able to dance and have fun without having to rely on alcohol."

The morning will combine dancing with a more relaxed wellness-focused atmosphere, with attendees able to enjoy coffee and some breakfast alongside the music.

"It's just about bringing people together to have fun and wellness, not just yoga or Pilates and that kind of thing" added Courtney.

Unlike her usual events, which have traditionally been aimed at women in their 30s, this event is being opened up to everyone.

"This is the first time we're completely opening that audience up," she said.

"It's men, women, all ages, husbands, girlfriends. It's for everybody to come, have fun, drink coffee, eat fruit and dance."

The event is being held at Boston Tea Party in Leamington with hopes it will encourage people to consider socialising and having fun without alcohol, while offering a different kind of Sunday morning experience.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the event, Courtney further expressed: "Before starting The Social Thirties, I worked in the music industry and was a tech-house DJ for many years, so nightlife and dance music were a huge part of my life. Since becoming a mum and moving into my thirties, my own relationship with going out has completely changed - but my love of music and dancing hasn't.

"I loved the idea of creating the feeling of a proper night out without actually needing the night out. You can get up, have a coffee, dance for two hours, meet people and be back home before some people have even started their Sunday."

She further expressed a shift in the way people are starting to socialise and noted more people are looking for things to do that don't revolve around drinking,

"It doesn't mean we want socialising to become boring. This is still very much a party - it just happens to be before breakfast" highlighted Courtney.
