An Emergency Bleed Control Cabinet is set to be installed outside Leamington Town Hall.

The installation supports the introduction of new UK-wide legislation known as 'Martyn's Law', in tribute to Martyn Hett who was killed alongside 21 others in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in 2017.

Martyn's Law places a requirement on those responsible for certain venues and public locations to consider the threat from terrorism and implement appropriate and proportionate mitigation measures.

Major injuries can happen in all environments such as car accidents or trips and falls, and the chances of saving a life in the event of significant blood loss is greatly improved with access to life saving equipment.

Cllr Jim Sinnott, Portfolio Holder for Safer, Healthier and Active Communities, said: "We work closely with partners and agencies to focus on the safety of our visitors and residents, and I'm pleased to see we continue to improve our safety precautions. Whilst we hope there won't be any occasions where this kit is required, it's reassuring for our residents to know they are there."

The Emergency Bleed Control cabinet is designed to be easily identifiable and accessible. The bright red cabinet will be installed on the Town Hall at the corner of Livery Street and Parade.
