New images show the works underway at the Asps housing estate to the south of Warwick and Leamington.

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) began works on the development around Banbury Road and Europa Way in May, and has released an update today (July 1).

The major housing estate will eventually see 900 new homes, a park and ride, a primary school, local centre and open space built.

Developers Taylor Wimpey (Midlands) Ltd and Bloor Homes are pressing ahead with construction in the area.

Three-way traffic lights have been in place in the area since May while WCC contractors build a new entrance to the estate.

The work will also involve creating drainage, surfacing roads, upgrading the existing street lighting, installation of traffic signals and the introduction of new splitter islands.

There are several phases to the works which are expected to be completed in the winter.

There may also be periods of overnight road closures for required resurfacing works, which will be publicised in advance - WCC said.
