Demolition work set to begin on Leamington multi-storey car park this month

The commencement of deconstruction works at the Covent Garden Multi-Storey Car Park in Leamington Spa will begin this month (21 July).
The project's primary goal is to modify the height of the current structure to ensure its structural stability.
This adjustment will enable the reactivation of the car park's lower two levels for long-stay parking, anticipated to be operational for the coming two to three years while long-term plans for the site are determined.
The contractor carrying out works on the site, DSM Demolition Limited (DSM), is set to begin the demolition towards the end of the month, with an expected project completion by early December.
To ensure the deconstruction process is conducted safely, a portion of the nearby Covent Garden Surface Car Park will be temporarily inaccessible.
This measure is designed to facilitate the secure dismantling and removal of construction materials from the premises.

As a result of the ongoing work and the safety hoardings erected in the vicinity, the Covent Garden Surface Car Park will experience a reduction, offering only 32 spaces.
Despite this temporary limitation, Warwick District Council has said it is confident the town's car parks will sufficiently absorb the reduced number of available parking spots.
