This winter, around 9,000 new trees will be planted across Warwick District with the support of funding from the council.

It is in effort to create new habitats, restore hedgerows and enhance local green spaces.

For the third year running, WDC is supporting local farms by funding of thousands of trees, with help from Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and Warwickshire's Sustainable Farming Groups.

It will also be planting trees across Council-owned green spaces, housing estates, nature reserves and cemeteries, and creating new community orchards.

Local groups can get involved through the Wilder Communities scheme, run with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Schools, community groups, landowners and more can apply to plant trees, hedgerows, and sow wildflowers to make local green spaces richer for people and wildlife.
