Concerns grow following social media posts relating to violence between local schools

Social media posts have been shared relating to violence between schools.
In the last few days Warwick and Leamington Police have been working closely with schools and partners at the county and district and borough councils to talk to pupils and parents and carers.
Police will have increased patrols around key schools and today (Friday, March 13).
Local Policing Chief Inspector Simon Ryan said: "We've been working very closely with schools and our colleagues in local authorities in recent days to engage with young people.
"We've seen a lot of concern caused by this online trend and I would like to take this chance to reassure young people and parents that we are monitoring the situation closely.
"We will not have our young people being made to feel unsafe, and we will take swift, robust action against anyone who attempts to incite violence.
"Our communities can expect to see a strong police presence in key schools tomorrow. Please come and have a chat if you have any concerns."
Leamington and Warwick have advised parents and carers, should consider taking the following steps:
• Check your child's phone daily for TikTok/Snapchat posts.
• Warn children of real-world consequences: police involvement, exclusion, and criminal records.
• Know your child's route home and encourage them not to wait in groups after school.
Individuals should call 101 to report concerning local messaging or rumours of violence.
If there is an imminent risk of harm, individuals should call 999 straight away.
