Since 2015, the Shri Krishna Resource Centre (SKRC), Leamington, has organised and celebrated International Yoga Day every June — bringing together people from Leamington, Warwick, and nearby communities for a joyful day of health, harmony, and togetherness. 

This year, International Yoga Day will be celebrated with a free taster event, on Saturday 20 June 2026.

The event will take place at 11am to 12.30 noon at the Royal Pump Rooms.

Yoga is an ancient, time-tested method of achieving both physical fitness and mental peace, requiring minimal cost and offering maximum benefit. Every year, our celebration features a morning of guided yoga sessions, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques led by experienced local yoga teachers, all of whom generously volunteer their time for free.

This is a community event for everyone, from children to senior citizens, beginners to regular practitioners.

Each year, around 100 participants take part, reflecting the diversity and unity of the towns.

Organiser, SKRC shared: "Whether it's sunshine or drizzle, we've always come together with smiles, mats, and open hearts — creating lasting memories and spreading positive energy across Leamington and Warwick.

The goal is to spread awareness about yoga "a simple yet powerful way to stay fit, focused, and happy."

By coming together on this day, individuals will celebrate not only yoga but also the spirit of community well-being.

Over the years, these events have been attended by local dignitaries, including MPs, councillors, and even the Consul General of India from Birmingham, highlighting the importance of the celebration in the town's cultural calendar. 

Behind the scenes, the SKRC volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year — planning, promoting, and coordinating every detail to ensure the event runs smoothly.
