HW Device Test Engineer

Building Surveyor (Fire Safety and Climate Change) £30-45p/h Umbrella (INSIDE IR35) - Flexibility depending on experience 3 Months Initially (scope for extension) Warwick District Council Hybrid working available with travel required to housing stock and council sites across the District What will you do? Lead on fire safety and climate change-related capital projects, including decarbonisation and planned works within the Housing Investment Programme (HIP), valued up to £1m Carry out stock condition surveys, defect diagnostics, risk assessments (including Fire Risk and DDA), and prepare reports and technical specifications Project manage delivery of major repairs, cyclical maintenance and refurbishment schemes from planning through to completion Prepare health and safety documentation and ensure full compliance Manage contractor performance, budgets and programme timelines, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standard Provide technical advice and support to internal colleagues, tenants and leaseholders, and be a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle Maintain accurate, auditable records of actions, payments, valuations and final accounts Assist in shaping future investment programmes and provide stock condition insights to inform future strategy What do you need? To be successful in your application for this role, you will need to demonstrate ALL of the following on application and through the interview process: UK Resident with a valid driving licence A recognised qualification in Building Surveying or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent) OR a proven track record (min. 3 years) working in a local authority or housing provider in a similar field Experience delivering fire safety and/or decarbonisation schemes and managing contractors on site Strong knowledge of construction contracts, building regulations, health and safety standards (including CDM), and good housing maintenance practice Excellent project management and organisational skills, with experience managing large budgets and engaging with residents and leaseholders Sound understanding of typical surveying legislation including the Decent Homes Standard and HHSRS Desirable: Chartered status (MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent) Experience using AutoCAD and writing technical reports What to do next? Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:Test Engineer - Durability and Robustness - 34/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire - 10 Months (potential to extend)Duties:Responsible for testing standard and/or custom products, devices, and/or hardware to assess their performance and reliability- Complete full preparation of test facility and/or test parts to enable effective and timely data delivery.- Provide technical advice and guidance on collection and measurement of data. To collate, manipulate and interpret data which will be used to inform engineering decisions.- Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of measurement equipment.- Take ownership of data quality and performance reporting for measurement equipment and capability.- To conduct analysis and fault rectification to ensure minimum down time.- To support continuous improvement activity with the goal of improving test effectiveness and/or product quality.- To support all activities that result in a positive outcome from any audit, e.g. TS16949,OHSAS18001, ISO 14001.- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager, at the appropriate site, in connection with their job as may be requested. Skills/Experience Required:- Planning, completing and reporting full vehicle Durability and Robustness Testing.- Technical expertise and experience of automotive test facility and test vehicle preparation.- Experienced with data acquisition and control systems.- Data analysis and reporting of test data.- Natural problem-solver with structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment.- The ability to validate, prepare and read engineering documents.- Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH.- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and Single Point Lesson (SPL) documents.- A full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualification, 2 years accident free record.- Experience and certification for conducting testing on proving grounds.- Agile project planning experience - ideally using JIRA.- Knowledge of instrument calibration processes.- Experience with TS16949 or ISO9001 standards and requirements.- Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification.Education:- Educated to Degree level in a Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or related field.Additional information:This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35.The services advertised by Premea Limited for this vacancy are those of an Employment Business.Premea is a specialist IT & Engineering recruitment consultancy representing clients in the UK and internationally within the Automotive, Motorsport and Aerospace sectors.>
