Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using hand and power tools. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, providing accurate reports on vehicle condition.
• Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Communicate findings clearly to customers, providing recommendations for necessary repairs or maintenance.
• Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance during inspections.

Requirements

• Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections and repairs.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Valid MOT Tester certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for the right candidate.
• A team player with good communication skills, capable of working independently when required.
