Location: Warwick (1-2 days per week onsite) Contract: 6 months initial (long-term programme - highly likely extension) IR35: Inside IR35 Start: Urgent - ideally within 1 week

A leading consulting client is seeking an experienced IBM Storage & Backup Engineer to join a critical enterprise infrastructure programme. This is an urgent requirement with interviews happening immediately.

Required Experience

• 10+ years' experience in enterprise storage environments

• IBM SAN & Lenovo NAS administration

• Brocade (or Cisco) SAN fabric management

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)

• IBM FlashSystem/SVC experience

• Replication technologies (FlashCopy, Global Mirror, Metro Mirror)

• Solid understanding of SAN/FC, multipathing, VMware and AIX storage integrations

• Strong Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer IBM storage platforms

• Storage provisioning, zoning, replication, firmware upgrades, performance tuning

• Administer IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) including schedules, policies, restores, failover/failback and disk storage operations

• Manage SAN fabrics, zoning, switch upgrades and fabric health

• Act as L3 escalation for critical storage and backup incidents

• Plan and execute DR drills, storage migrations and capacity expansion

• Support datacentre operations including hardware installation and troubleshooting

• Create technical documentation, SOPs and automation scripts
